Broadband working from home

Hi

we have sky broadband ultrafast and I work from home using BT Genysis which I take incoming calls. Recently this has a lot of interference on the line and I cannot hear calls and keeps dropping out. A colleague suggested changing channels on broadband? Any ideas ? I connect through WIFI and am near my router

thanks

@Auntiesmirnoff3 changing wifi channels might help if the issue is being caused by interference from your neighbours network. Easiest way to optimise your network is to disconnect the power to your Sky hub for 30 seconds as when it reboots it will try to find the least congested channel.

You can be more scientific if you want and download a wifi analyzer app onto your phone which will show you all of the wifi networks in range with signal strength and channel. Another network using the same or adacent channel will cause interference if the signal is strong enough. In many homes there are no clear 2.4GHz channels  but if you can find one you can manually switch your hub using these instructions https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk/How-to-change-your-Sky-wireless-channel/ba-p/2687733

Its also worth trying to improve signal strength by following these ideas Sky Help - Slow wifi

@Auntiesmirnoff3 if you have an Android device try Wifi Analyzer its free and works well - Sky's own techs use it think you can get it for Windows if y ou have a paptop. On iPhone its difficult but Apple's Airport Utility can be made to sort of work but you have to tick wifi sca nning in the apps entry in Settings.

@Auntiesmirnoff3 unfortunately Apple make this difficult by not allowing scanning apps. Restarting the hub usually works if its interference but another useful app is Wifi Sweetspots that shows the speed back to the hub as you move round your home.
