Broadband upgrade
Having recently been upgraded to fibre and a technician visit to complete the the install i started to have problems with connection to my laptop . Now all the other connected equipment to my router was working fine, so i assumed it must be a problem with my laptop, I visited a local computer tech and he did a full check on my laptop. His conclusion was the laptop was fine and he also connected it to a local router to confirm there was no problem, his conclusion was that perhaps a change of channel on my router may help the situation. There could also be a problem with the router. I tried to speak to a technical representative from sky. It didnt happen instead i was told that Sky WIFIMax would be the solution by a customer rep. At this point i just wanted a solution. My laptop is now connecting with a decent speed. This to me proves that my other hub was not operating up to spec and i am now left looking at a 24 month contract As i couldnt speak to a tech I couldnt ask for a replacement hub or a change in channel. Is this a common problem

Re: Broadband upgrade
@TheCat1320 changing WiFi channels manually was possible on the black Sky hubs as a way to avoid interference but simply retarting yhe hub achievedvthe same result as the hub would find the least congested channel. As other devices connected normally it seems unlikely thst only your laptop was affected You cannot manually select channels on the Sky Max hub as thst is handled automatically.
If you feel that you do not need the componets of the Sky WiFi Max bundle then you have 31 day cooling off period from when you connected the new hub to reject the package and you normally keep the white Sky Max hub but lose the extra components like sccess to WiFi extenders, parental control etc as detailed here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
