Broadband slow

We swapped back to Sky after being with BT due to Sky being historically slow. We were assured it was much better now and the modems were far better than BTs. However, the internet to all our devices is so slow. We are a family of 4, we are all having to use our mobile  phone data to connect to the internet in our home. We are using saved data from the piggy bank like its going out of fashion, we never had this issue with BT. I feel like we have been duped into another contract with Sky . I can't ring up and speak to anyone, it's hugely frustrating.  I'm at a loss as what to do.

'Modems' connect routers to copper internet circuits, and are essentially all the same these days.  I suspect you are actually referring to WiFi coverage, which certainly varies between ISP hardware.

Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of 'Broadband Boost' and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell them except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Inevitably some have leaked onto a certain auction site, but Sky won't offer support with using these.

Confusingly the 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above.
