Broadband service checker indicates everything is "good". It's not good.

We have our Sky Hub in the main living area, on a shelf. We get constant slow speeds, dropouts, on pretty much ALL devices we use. We are on the Superfast package. My wife uses her phone quite a lot to browse things like instagram, sometimes those videos don't load. (WiFi) I sometimes watch shows/films/twitch.tv on a tablet (they randomly get forced to super low quality/buffer) (WiFi). I sometimes play games on a PC upstairs. It has a WiFi card (and a special dongle to increase the range it can pickup a signal) but I generally try to use a powerline-adapter as I am fully aware of most of the major pitfalls surrounding internet issues. This worked perfectly fine, in this house, when I was with BT. Sky? Constant lag spikes when my wife uses the internet. Dropouts, very VERY slow speeds sometimes (can go from 2Mbps to 29). Basically, 2 people can't use the connection at the same time effectively. I have tried everything and anything I can think of, not limited to the following; Bought new powerline adapters Bought google nest (Although the signal is stronger, they suffer from the exact same issue, so it basically just moved the problem) Moved room Unplugged any unessential electrical equipment in and around my router and PC. Kicked off any devices I wasn't sure of. I can't even report an issue with Sky, as their "Broadband checker" just checks they can reach the hub, how is that even useful? There's something wrong with their Kit or service. There's got to be. I have the router logs and some connection stats, but there's no way to upload on this initially, so will try post after.

It's the connection stats from a Sky Hub which are most useful, rather than log files.

Hi @akillingbeck89

Your stats look good, no dropped connections and the speed is fine. To me your issue sounds like poor WiFi combined with devices fighting for bandwidth. You may benefit from a completely seperate router which can provide a better WiFi signal as well as QoS management for your devices.

What do you mean? I have to spend extra money to buy a new router that works? Why does the Sky router not provide QoS?

Sky's router does not include QoS because its a basic ISP supplied router. If you are a busy household with people using social media, streaming, gaming etc then the router pretty much wont keep up. My suggestion is that you could use a 3rd party router instead to improve the situation.

Like, nobody is home now but me, I have a youtube video running while in a game, ping is upwards of 400. It's not 2005 anymore, that should not happen
