To me your issue sounds like poor WiFi combined with devices fighting for bandwidth. You may benefit from a completely seperate router which can provide a better WiFi signal as well as QoS management for your devices.

What do you mean? I have to spend extra money to buy a new router that works? Why does the Sky router not provide QoS?

If you are a busy household with people using social media, streaming, gaming etc then the router pretty much wont keep up. My suggestion is that you could use a 3rd party router instead to improve the situation.

Like, nobody is home now but me, I have a youtube video running while in a game, ping is upwards of 400. It's not 2005 anymore, that should not happen
