Broadband prices
Why are the renewal prices higher for current customers than new customers, why would I want to pay £10 more a month for the exact same package I have now

Re: Broadband prices
Because that's how the ISP business operates: they know a significant percentage of users don't switch supplier, and calibrate their pricing accordingly.

Re: Broadband prices
You are the customer and have a choice of shopping around on all ISP that use Openreach.
I normally give 30 days notice 1 month before the discount rate period ends. Then give it 2 weeks and speak to retentions team if they prepared to offer a discount before you jump ship.
9/10 times they will offer a good discount...if they dont then go to another ISP as a new customer. As you are switching on Openreach, things in theory should go smoothly.
We do that when it come to home/car insurance...no rewards for auto renewal so shop around.
