Broadband outage compensation

Hi,

my broadband was down for 6 days due to an external issue. Do I need to contact sky to sort out the compensation or does it get sorted automatically?

thanks

@NR2026  Broadband Auto compensation kicks in 2 working days (excludes weekends and bank holidays) after being reported, so in your case it will be 4 working days, not 6, see this link https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation

When will the compensation start

Your compensation will start from the third full working day.

If you report the problem on... Your compensation will start from...
Monday Thursday
Tuesday Friday
Wednesday Saturday
Thursday Tuesday
Friday Wednesday
Saturday Wednesday
Sunday Wednesday

When you’ll get your compensation

We’ll pay any compensation you’re due within 30 days of:

  • Fixing your Broadband & Talk
  • Your missed appointment
  • Activating your Broadband & Talk

We’ll calculate what you’re owed and add a credit to your Sky account. Once that's been added, we'll send you an email or a letter to let you know. You don’t need to get in touch to get your compensation; it’s automatic.

@NR2026
This auto compensation is applied 30 days after the fault has been repaired and will come in the form of a credit appearing on your Sky account (from April 2026 the rate has increased to £10.34 for every complete day).
