Sky broadband should have been active on 7/12/24 and nothing, no message from Sky or anything
being told broadband isn't in my area

Delay, particularly if it's a new FTTP installation, isn't unusual, and unfortunately December to January is particularly problematic with bad weather, short daylight hours and seasonal personnel absences.
If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.
