Broadband nightmare
Slow broadband speeds since start of March , April not fairing much better .
had 3 outside engineers with no replies , after a long ridiculous chat with someone on the phone I had a home visit from open reach engineer who managed to get almost 80 coming into the socket , quite reasonably thought it must be the router . All cables fine , a mystery .
new hub sent and now I am getting 30-40 mg but continually dropping out now .
During the day after his visit and before the new router arrived the speeds miraculously jumped from the low teens I was getting to 40 .
new hub fitted and speeds not too bad but now I'm experiencing drop outs in the connection .
phone calls go round in circles , another engineer needs booked !? Just time wasting , two days off work , one for engineer and one for new router delivery .
the whole thing stinks of something fishy in a dirty effort to get me to switch to fibre . And expect me to up my monthly bill for the privilege!
How am I supposed to think anything other than I do which is that my service is being tampered with intentionally
and no , I'm not a conspiracy theorist

Broadband is a heavily regulated industry and Ofcom would wreak havok on any ISP which did so.
Given FTTC runs over worn-out Openreach copper pairs which were never meant to carry data, technical faults are rather more likely than sabotage.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Broadband nightmare
Thanks for the reply
yes , my level headed part said that would be ridiculous, but my level headedness is hard to reach lately .
hopefully someone will help as I can't take any more of the phone call scenarios
one actually tried to get me to subscribe to sports while she was running tests .
I know she's only doing her job but dear god I hope someone with a bit of knowledge is lurking around here and can help
p.s. I have no cameras or any equipment that might interfere . While set up at home is exactly as it's been for 8 years with no issues .
