Broadband keeps dropping

Broadband keeps dropping, down for an hour at a time sometimes longer, ido all the necessary things like pulling out all the appropriate leads and wires but it still doesn't help. Getting fed up with this as I watch tv through streaming. Was even considering getting sky Stream but what is the point if the broadband is dropping. 
Even when I done the broadband test it says the it's okay but my internet light isn't green
