Broadband fast Activation
I am upgrading to Broadband Fast - we have the conversion kit and it is due for activation on 14th April. What I need to o own is will my service be interrupted on that day? I have meetings planned at work and working from home so need it to be reliable.

Re: Broadband fast Activation
If you don't already have optical infrastructure at the address then that needs to be installed: the 'Conversion Kit' is a very small part of the process.

Re: Broadband fast Activation
If you've received a 'Conversion Kit' then it's not an interruption of service: it's the replacement of one technology by an entirely different one, so yes, at some point you're going to have to disconnect to make the physical switch over.
In theory a copper circuit can certainly continue to operate after FTTP is activated, but in practice that's likely to be somewhat random.

I think I had no broadband connection for no more than 10 minutes when mine was installed.

Re: Broadband fast Activation
@Fox9591 while as @caesarome posts the switch over is pretty quick in most cases that is not guaranteed and the work will require a responsible adult to agree with the engineer where the new line should enter the property. Then access holes are drilled and equipment installed after which the new connection is made and demonstrated before it can be used during this process the coppper linecshould stay connected but in a few cases it can't be.
All of thst is hardly ideal if you are in an important meeting and nobody else can handle the hassle.
