Re: Broadband dropping

I'll make sure to not restart the router over the next two weeks, I restarted it once today but haven't since. Like I previously mentioned could the stability also due to the wire running from the master socket to the spliter and then going off to the router and phone line?

Too early to say. If you could post an up to date hub stats and syslog (keep the time stamps in) around 22:00 this evening and we will look at it again. I would have thought if openreach thought there was an internal issue they  would have checked it out as well.

@PeterP2000

The hub has been connected solidly to the internet for almost 4 1/4 hours

Again the ethernet from lan port 2 disconnected twice in short succession

eth1 (Int switch port: 6) (Logical Port: 6) Link DOWN.
21:32:02 syslog: [13562.582000] eth1 (Int switch port: 6) (Logical Port: 6) Link UP 100 mbps full duplex
21:32:08 syslog: [13568.690000] eth1 (Int switch port: 6) (Logical Port: 6) Link DOWN.

What device is connected?

We'll look at that again in the morning if thats ok

Re: Broadband dropping

So LAN Port 2 has my Computer Connected to which I have been on since I last messaged, even though the logs say it's disconnected twice my connection has dropped multiple times, I'm going to try and switch to LAN Port 1 and possibly run a different ethernet cable to double-check that there isn't an issue with the cable

@cookiemonsteruk

Sorry for constantly bothering you but the Internet was fine between 12:30 pm and 4:50 pm but after 4:50pm it's been dropping out constantly. The link below shows how often it's been disconnecting over the last hour I recorded (Recording started at 4:58 pm and lasted till 5:52 pm, I dont expect you to watch the full video but scrub through the video to see how many times my internet drops)

Your log shows drops on both ethernet port 1 & 2 so your issue is definitely down to either a faulty hub, cable or port on your PC.

Re: Broadband dropping

Thank you for your reply mate, I've tried two different ethernet cables for my PC and the port on my PC should in theory be fine due to recently moving and prior to the move I had no drops or anything at a constant 400Mb. Additionally the DVR which records the perimeter of my house also randomly drops and that's also on an Ethernet port. In the meantime while I wait for a replacement router do you know if it's at all possible to use another companies router such as an EE router for example as my Sky router or not?

Kind regards,

Peter

Another ISPs router wont work but you could use a 3rd party one like an Asus or netgear
