Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@cookiemonsteruk It has taken that long for it to show up in the database as being available?

It has been 7 months in total.
Internal MDU by subcontractors in Dec-Jan.
Then another set of subcontractors had to drop down from cbt into a drain/cable conduit 50 metres up the road and feed it down
Then openreach and the 1st set of contractors came back and hooked up internal distribution point with the external fibre cable and that was 3-4 weeks before it showed today on BtWholesale. So 7 months for whole process

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@cookiemonsterukThat does seem like a long drawn out process not helped by what has been going on.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@cookiemonsteruk But this process does show that sometimes to connect a property is a very complex process and never straightforward.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@cookiemonsteruk Where I live there seems to be some cabling activity going on with VM expanding and also installing FTTP, new cabs are popping up around the area.
Rather unusually though the company they are using Avonline have been dropping new cable also into the Openreach ducts outside my home but I can't see any news about the local exchange being in plan for FTTP.
In addition CityFibre have my area as a Phase 2 expension so hopefully we'll get FTTP soon.
All very weird.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@cookiemonsteruk What is being offered to you via Sky at this moment? It might say you are on the fastest package availabale as their database has to yet be updated.

Thinking about giving sky guest list a call today to find out if they could supply fttp in the first place and if they can offer 80/20 and how much it would be . This is a non LLU exchange and BT own the equipment at the exchange.

So , sky's database has updated so fttp is available via sky. Would need to upgrade to ultrafast 150Mbps in order to get it. So 80/20 via fttp is not an option
Just concerned mobile signal is weak and generally have use wifi calling with no backup if theres a powercut or broadband goes down. So big decision

@GD1 thinking along the same lines πGuess its more related to access to emergency services should the fttp suffer a total outage

What ups do you have?
How long does it last for ?
How have you incorporated into your setup ?
Will one ups supply both ont and hub?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@cookiemonsteruk For the router/Ap'sI have an APC Pro 550 which gives about 20 to 30 minutes backup.
Yes they will provide backup for both & also surge protection, the power ports are C-14 type plugs, of course you can get C-14 extension leads allowing you to plug in a standard 3 pin plug
The 550pro has 4 backup/surge sockets and 2 or 3 surge only sockets
