Broadband dropping out

Just started using Sky full fibre broadband. Basically OK but poor speeds in a couple of rooms . Sky sent an extender (Max POD) which improved coverage but now my and my sons laptop s keep dropping off WiFi, connect up only to drop off again. Turning off the Nax Pod and the probkem goes away. So something is wrong that is directly linked to using the Max POD.

Is the pod within sufficent range of the hub but not too close?
