Broadband dropping continuously

Hi,

i'm having a similar issue to many others where my broadband keeps dropping out every 10 minutes or so, we have been unable to stream (took me over an hour to watch 15 mnutes of a show) and i'm having to work with my laptop tethered to my phone for mobile data.

Broadband tests through the MySky app are all showing green (i have run this about 30 times over the last few days and always been green)

I have unplugged our router, our sky Q box, mini boxes etc.

I have re-set the router.

we have a black router and our Router stats are:

it's been like this now for around 6 days, pleas can we have some assistance to get this sorted?

Thank you

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@Chelseah  The router stats you have provided show an uptime of over 16 1/2 hours with no drops at all. Can you post them again, but give them 10 seconds to populate please.

If someone has helped give them Like.

If you have found this solution helpful please tick this as the answer.

Re: Broadband dropping continuously

Slight update on this. We saw an openreach van outside our house and they told us there was an issue with the cables at the exchange box which has been an issue for about 5 days, they were there for about an hour and then left, but there is no change to our connection, it's still dropping constantly.

Re: Broadband dropping continuously

That's strange, your router stats say wan, lan and WiFi have been up for 18 hours, with no disconnects.

What devices have you been using to test this, and how is it connected to the router.

If you can, can you connect with a ethernet cable, and see if it's the same results.

@HiHowAreYa

I know it's really odd!

Literally any device, phones, laptops, our sky Q boxes, tablets, everything you possibly could connect.

I'll try an ethernet cable, Not sure if I have one handy though haha

Re: Broadband dropping continuously

The only thing I can think of, is that one or more of the devices is using up all the Internet bandwidth, so when you need it, there's none left.

There only way test this theory, is to turn all the devices off. Then turn one on, see if the disconnects happen. If all good, turn on the next device and test again.
