I'm supposed to be getting a new connection on Friday, however I've had a couple of texts to say there is a delay (see screenshot). Sky have informed Vodafone (my old provider) that I'm switching, so the contract is supposedly ending on Friday. Will my old broadband be cut off, and I potentially have no broadband connection?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreQuite possibly. That's something you'll have to discuss with Vodafone.

Oh that'll be fun....
Ughh not a good start with Sky. I moved here from the US a couple of years ago and I can't believe how long this stuff takes....

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe minimum lead in time is two weeks (ie; 10 working days), but that is subject to delay depending on what work Openreach have to carry out and their engineer availability.

That's pretty poor, considering they emailed to say that a full fibre connection was now avaialble. Then you order, and find out that actually it's not ready. In the US, I ordered, and they installed next day. Thanks anyway for replying. What's the longest it can take?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@hc9394 as Openreach will be both fitting your new connection and closing the connection to your old ISP they should co-ordinate both actions. However things an and do go wrong so its not certain by any chance sorry to say.
