Broadband can't cope with two people in house
I switched to Sky a few months ago and ever since then have had broadband dropping out every evening. It seems to be only when my daughter's home and there are two of us trying to use it at the same time.
It's fine during the day when I'm working from home and she's out at college. But this evening for example she's been in her room watching Netflix and I'm downstairs trying work and every 10 mins the signal drops on my laptop or phone or both. Other times it's her laptop or phone that gets booted off and mine stays connected.
Router says it's fine, speed fine etc - and it is, for one person! It's like it can't handle more than one or two devices at a time. Is Sky only suitable for single person households? It's not as if we're the Waltons all gaming and downloading movies at once. There's two of us being I think pretty normal internet users. Never had any such issues with our previous supplier, only since switching to Sky.
Anyone experienced the same and found a solution?

What speed should you get?
How are you both connected, wifl or ethernet,?
If you have a black sky router could you post your statistics

Thanks. It's a black router and WiFi. How do I know what speed I'm supposed to get?

Along the top of where you type your reply click on the icon that looks like a photo frame. This should bring up a gallery of images , click on the stats and they should load

Re: Broadband can't cope with two people in house
The stats look fine just shy of the maximum speed of 80Mbps and the router has been up for over 600 hours So there should be no reason why the both of you can't stream uhd and still have 10 Mbps to spare

Re: Broadband can't cope with two people in house
Ok, thank you cookiemonster. So any idea why we can't?
It'll look like it's still connected and have full Wi-Fi signal but say "no internet connection".
Not a device issue as happens on all of them - two iPhones, a Mac and a Windows laptop.
Rebooting the affected device usually works but it's a right hassle to do repeatedly all evening when trying to get on with stuff and the router has heard some extremely bad language when I'm on a deadline and it keeps chucking me out without even explaining what its problem is.
