Broadband & phone issues 🤬

Just had fibre installed today, already have the following issues-

1/ no phone line , apparently it takes up to 72 hrs to start working, wasn't made aware of this

2/ internet is very slow or intermittent in the conservatory, apparently this was predicted and we need a booster but wasn't given one, how do I get it and install it

overall very unimpressed with lack of information or instructions on how to go on, any ideas ?

@Mick+D

Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of the legacy 'Broadband Boost' add-on and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell boosters except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some  Sky booster hardware has leaked onto a certain auction site and elsewhere online, but Sky won't offer support with using these.

Confusingly the default 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' bundled with all new Sky Broadband orders where Boost or Max is not added by the customer doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above plus a one month broadband subscription refund.

Thanks for your reply, something is not right here, I've checked my speed and my fibre speed is no quicker than my old Talktalk copper broadband.

@Mick+D how are you measuring speeds? If its over wifi it is quite likely the limitation is the speed of thecwifi to your device not thecspeed to your hub. However speed tests run over a gigabit Ethernet link should be accurate. The factors affecting wifi speddsxare primarilybthe layout and type of construction if your home.
