I am moving into my new build property on the 23rd March and have ordered my equipment with that date in mind, it was confirmed with me on the phone when I ordered.
I was told that the activation would be done remotely so no need for an engineer, I have now had a text from openreach stating they need to check my equipment to get my fiber activated?
There is already an ONT installed in my new property and my address is showing on the fiber checker so why would someone need to do this if I've been told it can be done remotely?

@Ryano1 The ONT at the property has to be up, switched on and working, when OR go to test if they see that it is NON functional then they have to assume something is wrong, do you know currently what state it is in, off/on or unaware presently....
Does not matter in the slightest if the address is already confirmed as having a full fibre connection, if they do not see it up and on they have to check it all out!

Re: Broadband activation
There is power going to the unit, just red on the PON but assuming that's because it hasn't been activated yet as were the first ones to move there.
Haven't checked to see if there's a fibre cable actually connected but otherwise if I have no choice it is what it is

Re: Broadband activation
@Ryano1 OK, Pon should not be RED, but steady solid Green, so not activated at the OR Exchange end, that is why the Engineer needs to come take the look at it, something is wrong! Cable should be connected as you have a red Pon warning,
