Broadband activation

I'm waiting for final install/activation of fibre 150 broadband. The external incoming cable and box were fitted by Outreach yesterday (10th Sep). My activation date from Sky is 3rd Nov (7.5 weeks away). I called Sky (an Indian call centre I think) this morning to bring this forward and was told it wasn't possible as it's dictated by Outreach who need to install an internal box before Sky can complete/activate. Can anyone advise how I can accelerate things as I don't want to wait 2 months !

You can't contact Openreach direct. Customers can only contact their ISP (Sky).

You can't bring it forward. Openreach, not Outreach, determine the dates for necessary work to be carried out and the activation date.

Re: Broadband activation

Sorry I meant Openreach. How do I contact them independent of Sky?

Re: Broadband activation

After my initial outreach visit to install the incoming fibre cable and external box I now have a next outreach visit to install an internal box. My question is will a Sky engineer come at the same time to complete the fibre installation or does this need another (3rd) visit?

Re: Broadband activation

@stu+the+foo No, two visit's, outside is complete, inside get's it all finished, you are connected, engineer checks it and all over to you at that point!

Re: Broadband activation

The engineer installed the fibre into the house and set up the new router but left me to set up The Sky Q box and 2 mini-boxes which was straightforward - but is that normal?

silly question probably but as it's still Sky Q and not Sky Stream I'm assuming my Sky dish is still required ?

Re: Broadband activation

@stu+the+foo Yes that is normal, Engineer's do the Fibre but they are not master's of everything for every various different ISP's equipment basically here you are working, go sortout your own stuff.

Sky Q is still sat connected, but on demand is via your your Broadband connection for the sky Q and the mini and as you have it all connected and working then well done you!
