Broadband Speed Help

Hi, hoping someone can help with this.

I've got Sky broadband Superfast (apparently I cant get fibre here yet). For a while now the sky service checker has been saying there is a problem with my broadband, with the speed to the hub. It says speed to the hub is 21mb/s (it says this for every day), I assume this means download speed, which is below what they promised, its below the 21.5 guarantee so I coulde cancel it. My upload speed is currently 5.1, which I assume they dont guarnatee on. On the sky website it says the average download speed of that product is 61mb/s. Its definiely a problem, and the test checker always identifies this as speed to the hub, but does nothing to make it better.

When I do external broadband checks the highest I get is 19mb/s upload, 5mb/s download. I just did two on different sites again now, and it was 13/16 upload, and both 5 download.

(As a slight aside Skys own broadband checker says make sure you keep it not behind the tv in 30 cm of space, but dont actually provide enough cable to do this. The tests and checks provide no boost to the speed though.)

Any advice on what speeds other people are getting on the superfast package, or potential solutions to speed it up would be appreciated.

Thanks

@Daneggen If the tests are continually stating that there is an issue with the speeds to your hub you need to call Sky and report it, there is pretty much nothing anyone here can do to assist with that type of issue as it usually requires Openreach.

The 61mbps average speed you quote is the national average, the speed you get could be higher or lower depending on your individual line, as your guranteed speed is just 21.5mbps it suggests your line will never achieve clsoe to that national average.
