Broadband Help
Good afternoon,
I'm a SKY TV customer on the lookout for a new broadband package and looking for some help on which package best suits to my needs.
I recently had BT Fibre 900 Halo on a great discounted package which has sadly ended.
It didnt give me any problem but the price sadly has rocketed since the discount has ended.
I'm not the most switched on with download speeds etc and have been blinded with the sales pitches when speaking with advisors.
Apologies for the simplicity of my questions.
Looking for Full Fibre which is reqd for the following.
1. The usual mundane internet shopping and downloading etc via laptop, tablets and phones.
2. We have SKY Q and the mini box which I believe requires a good internet connection for downloading.
I need something that won't continually buffer due to slow speeds if watching streaming services.
Our house is a 4 bedroom upstairs downstairs with cover reqd throughout.
Overall how good is SKY Broadband, does it stand well in comparison to BT ?
Any advice appreciated.
Regards
Robert

Under the hood both are providing the same wholesale service over the national Openreach network. The difference is pricing, support and the router / booster hardware each offers.
I'd observe that Sky doesn't currently have cellular failover (unlike BT Halo 3+) and also that gigabit speed is rather massively unnecessary for the use case you describe: a 100Mbs product (the minimum Ultrafast speed band) could be quite adequate providing WiFi was up to scratch.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Broadband Help
If there is only 1-4 people which only do light downloading there is no need for you to have 900mbps. The 150mbps package would be more that sufficient.
As for the WiFi coverage, that is a little different. The problem is that generally BT's HALO system is a bit better than any of Sky's mesh offerings so you may notice a slight downgrade is overall WiFi quality. Or you may not notice any difference whatsoever, its totally dependant on your local WiFi environment.
