Broadband Activation questions - engineer visit

Tomorrow is my activation date for my broadband

I already have the router in the box so thats all good and I know because I don't have an ONT that they needed to send out an engineer.

I've had a few messages from Openreach saying that they'll be here tomorrow and to respond back if I needed to change it etc - thats all good.

But this morning, I got a second message saying than an MTS engineer will be attending tomorrow to carry out your fibre install with the exact same timeslot as the Openreach message.

So my question is, will it be Openreach that show up or MTS instead or will there in fact be two engineer visits?

There is no outside work to be done, its just the ONT thats missing - I kind of expected this to be a five minute job

Anyone know for sure if I can randomly expect two engineers or just the one tomorrow?

Thankyou,

It should just be one engineer that shows up. Either Openreach or a contractor or Sky. As long as they send a fibre trained engineer it should still be fine.

Note that unless the fibre cable is actually already hanging out the wall in your home it will not be a 5min job. To run the cable from the CSP on your wall, into the home, then along to the ONT mounting point can take at least an hour if not more.

Re: Broadband Activation questions - engineer visit

The Fibre cable is indeed hainging out of the wall and on the floor in my home.

When I left my old ISP and swapped to Virgin Media I sent back the ONT box and power cable because I didn't realise at the time it was meant to be left.

Bear in mind for whatever reason when they did my original fibre installation with my old ISP the ONT wasn't mounted on the wall and just left on the floor so I accidentally sent it back along with their router after changing.

I read afterwards that if the installation had been done correctly then the ONT should have been wall mounted and then I wouldn't have sent it back!!

hopefully tomorrow, it will be replaced and actually put on the wall...
