Hi,
For the last few months i've been having ridiculous lag spikes while gaming. It will shoot from 20/30 to 150/250 for 3 seconds out of no where. I can't for the life of me figure out why this is happening.
Im connected by ethernet and i have no idea what's caused this issue and why it's happening. On the sky super fast and get around 80-100mbps download but this lag is confusing me. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Also can you confirm the device is connected directly to the router via ethernet & you are not using anything like powerline adapters or a booster?

Hi,
Here are my router stats:
I have to use a booster due to the position of the where the wires come into the house. However, ive always used a booster and never had this problem before which is the confusing part.
It's been fine since I upgraded to the new internet (constantly get 100mbps on the booster, I am connected from the booster to my PC with ethernet) which im on now and ive tried alot of the solutions online. It's only started occuring since december.
Hope this helps.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDue to the nature of WiFi conditions can change quite drastically in a short space of time. There wouldnt be much point troublehsooting your connection as it is now until you can connect via ethernet directly to the router and see what its like then

Sorry for the delay.
I ran a cable downstairs and checked. It still gives me major ping spikes in the 200-300ms around every minute or so. Very confusing. Any ideas on what it could be?
Ive ran a line test and it says there are no faults in my area.

Has the issue been resolved? I'm getting the same issue while using a TP-Link powerline adaptor.

I've bought Cat5 Ethernet cable over the weekend and tried it. Still the same issue.
