BT openreach say I should have the SR213 router with my new full fibre broadband

Hi.

BT openreach came out today to install the new 1gb full fibre at my home.

Both the engineers said that I should have the SR213 (white) router with my new full fiber broadband and not the older (black) SR203, is this correct?

The SR203 'Sky Broadband Hub' from 2019 is compatible with FTTP up to 1Gbs, connected over ethernet port #4 to the ONT: Sky sends the 'conversion kit' (a Cat5e ethernet cable) for this.

As @FLC indicates, new Sky Broadband customers get the 2023 SR213 'Max Hub', as do existing Sky subscribers who choose to add the WiFi Max subscription supplement when placing the order for an upgrade to FTTP.
