Re: BT cold call about

He said that by were changing copper cables to high fibre for sky//EE customers. My sky phone runs on bt line. But then he asked for my mobile phone so he could do a speed check to see whether I have copper cable. Sounded strange so I said no.

Re: BT cold call about

@ediecook That is wise, BT have nothing at all to do with anything in the slightest for you, even though you are using that name, your line from the Exchange is all done and controled by Openreach, and from the contrary OR are NOT BT!

And trust me OR know exactly what you have got, even before they were to step on your doorstep!

@ediecook

That sounds like a scam call as they wanted you to install and app and to probably login to it so they can gain access to your Sky account so they can order mobiles and tablets from it and this does happen as we see posts like this on here each week so should you receive anymore such calls that don't even talk to them and just hang up.

@ediecook If you are looking or thinking about a FF Full Fibre Upgrade and it is available, sky are doing deals all with that currently, linked below if you need it for the future, but keep the guard up, you did well!

Or the longer-standing one of installing remote access software, offering 'compensation for slow speed', and then encouraging the victim to log into their banking app to verify this has been received.

Re: BT cold call about

Actually it was a door caller. My son answered the door. He is an ex Policeman and was suspicious right away.
