Hi, I am due to have superfast broadband activated 23/3/23. I have a BT master socket in the house however I am concerned the wires may have been cut during decorating.
We have not used the master socket for over a year and do not have a landline so cannot test.
I was told an engineer will come out on the activation date but may not even need access to the house. Will I need to make an appointment for someone to come out and check the master socket is still connected and if not get it replaced? Would this be Sky or would I need to get BT out?
Any help/advice would be appreciated thanks.

I had a similar situation and the Sky Broadband Engineer was able to replace the master socket and complete the installation.

Openreach rather than BT (although, confusingly, Openreach is part of BT Group). Sky and BT as ISPs are competitors, so Openreach is legally required to be a neutral infrastructure and services provider. BT branding on a master socket is a legacy of previous arrangements.
