Re: Another dropout problem

@Jashan Port 4 Wan is the dedicated WAN connection but it does have another side option for DSL/Lan port when not fibre, i went direct on the SR203 and set the port from AUTO operation to WANoE only, never had an wan drop issues connection wise can find the stat's screen still got that were it was up in the 1000+ hrs connected and working, a wan drop is suspected OR but it could be anything at all!

Actually the stat's are all on the post!

Added Wan setting picture below for the SR203 also gets rid of ticking relay and long connection times from boot up!

SR203 set for FF wan only connectionSR203 set for FF wan only connection

Re: Another dropout problem

not sure why it didn't attach, but basically when I follow what you said to do about typing in the IP address and checking the log, it doesn't work with the instructions you gave me. It prompts me for a username and password. It is in one of my previous comments if you scroll back. Anyway it doesn't matter guess it'll figure itself out eventually. Thanks though

@Kerry187 What sky hub do you have?

Re: Another dropout problem

Thanks Jim, I have made that change from Auto to WANoE and I clicked apply. The router did not restart when I did that. Does it need a restart?

router now shows this: PORT (WAN) STATUS (WANoE)

Is this correct? is there anything else to do?

Re: Another dropout problem

@Jashan Cannot remember if it forced or needed a restart, the fact you were already connected, just try it see how it all goes, next reboot take a quick look and see it's still set as WANoE! Some user's have reported iPv6 was causing issues and stability on the hub personally never seen that would have spotted it right away though even that the SR203 was only back on for 6 weeks +!!

Re: Another dropout problem

Had another drop out this morning, seems to occur every 2 days or so. The router stayed on wanoe.

noticed a collision packet in LAN, could this be the cause?

Re: Another dropout problem

The reboots are still occurring every two days. I wonder if my cctv could be causing this issue, as I added services for port 80 and 6036 and added this as an exception in firewall ipv4 setting and also I have a fixed ip address for cctv.

Re: Another dropout problem

Sky sent me another router SR 203. This will be my third one. Using it now without my CCTV connection or opening any ports for it or reserving the IP address. Simply using the router as it is without configuring it. Only thing I have done is enabled WANoE as suggested earlier. Sky sent a third party engineer and he cant find a fault. He suggested it might be the new ONT isnt registered properly or there is a problem with the switch in the green box. He has sent this back to sky and in the meantime I jsut have to monitor if it drops again. Will keep you updated.
