Am I missing something ?

I've been switched on today 11th Dec, I've just got broadband so I've got the power on, the ethernet cable is in the wall, it's only those 2 cables but I've got a red light on the front of my hub, am I missing something ?

@Bigkahuna you have t wait until the service is fully connected. The texts often comes several hours before the job is completed.

@Bigkahuna  when mine was activated last week, on the activation day I received a text from Sky at 10.30am and then I swapped out the old bt hub for the Sky hub and it was working.

Make sure the Ethernet from the ont goes into the correct port on hub (marked WAN).

Hi sounds very similar to you, I had plugged the ethernet wire into the wall socket and not the open reach box because when I opened the box I couldn't see any sockets to plug into but their there, its under like a ridge about half way up you can feel it with your finger, so on e I did that all good thanks for your help....
