After 8 years and a platinum member…..

I am experiencing significant issues with both broadband connection and reliability as well as a complete drop off of speed. 

A recent engineer visit checked the lines to the house (day before they came it was 24/3 down/up speed, but intermittent faults).. the day after their visit to rectify the intermittency, the speeds have dropped to 1.2/2.4 down/up. 

Contacted engineer again and said he tested it remotely and we need to book another engineer. 

 

Speeds to the hub 300-400mb, so that's not it.. Factory reset etc.   Downloading movies to sky etc is now non existent. 

 

Tried to call and on hold for nearly 42 minutes. 

 

Anyone have a suggestion?

@Nabu if you are sure the speed to the hub is over 300Mb/s and you are on a full fibre connection? If so the issue lies in your home. Wifi speeds depend on the layout and type of construction of your home but you should be able to access the full connected speed in the same room as the hub. Of course if the hub is poorly positioned say in a cupboard or blocked by other equipment that could explain the issue.

Sorry. Speeds at up to 400mb is hub to devices.  Speed to hub from open reach infrastructure is 1.2mb.
