Activation date for broadband

Hello!

I'm switching from BT to sky broadband and I was wondering if I can change my activation date?
I was unaware that sky can contact BT for me to say I was switching, so I did it myself and now my BT ends on 11th dec and Sky is starting on 20th. Something I read from sky was that they try to match the dates as closely as possible so I don't lose service but I guess that's my fault for not understanding properly. Is there anything I can do to move the date closer to the BT ending? I work from home so broadband is a big thing I can't really lose out on.

any help appreciated, Thanks.

@Macka1 unfortunately by contacting BT you have messed up the one touch switching process which would have switched the 2 services on the same day. There is usually no way to bring forward the activation as Sky will have placed an order with Openreach. The only hope is seeing if BT can cancel the "cancellation ".

Re: Activation date for broadband

Just my luck that aha, was just so sick of BT's service. Thing is my next payment for BT is on 12th dec, so essentially I'd be paying for a whole months service just for 8 odd days of use if I cancelled the cancellation.
