Access Sky Max Hub admin page
Just setup mySky Hub 6 / Sky Max Hub that comes with the 900mbps full fibre service.
On first setup, I was able to browse to 192.168.0.1 & login to amend some settings.
However now whenever I browse to 192.168.0.1 it redirects to https://myrouter.io. I've seen other threads on here where some users queried if that was correct. I can see it is legit so not worried about that. However why does it actually redirect to this URL which resolves back to the local IP of the hub anyway?!
Plus the SSL cert for the sit comes up as invalid - it expried a few weeks ago!
If i login with my details, I get into the start page fine, but after clicking into 1 or 2 other config pages I get thrown out saying I need to login again!
>>
I don't understand the need to use this URL when I've already browsed to the correct local IP address, it causes unnecesary issues. I tried amending the DNS on my PC to use 8.8.8.8 instead to see if it would stop the redirect but the HUB still redirects 192.168.0.1 to https://myrouter.io but obviously I then get a page cannot be displayed error.
As for why you have to port forward in an app rather than in the web interface.....😤

Re: Access Sky Max Hub admin page
You can see in your browser why the redirection is necessary. Increasingly browsers are unhappy connectiong to "insecure" HTTP addresses, so you get redirected to HTTPS to stop the browser complaining.
If you've only just set it up, maybe it needs a software update, which will happen in time. Although mine updated as soon as it was connected.
Like @Doc5907, I have no issues connecting in Firefox.

Re: Access Sky Max Hub admin page
interesting, so you guys don't have an expired SSL cert? I'd have expected the same cert was deployed to all devices. Maybe mine needs time to refresh itself from somewhere online
I'm wondering if getting forced to login again relates to the insecure connection rather than anything else wrong with the portal.

Re: Access Sky Max Hub admin page
@Nellyall you are not talking to Sky in the forum. The issue with router web pages not having SSL certs is an industry wide issue which is why Sky like so many other router manufacturers are switching from settings using a web interface to using an app.
There are significant complexities and costs in maintaining a secirity certificate for a site that is only accessible from within the safety of a home network. Some browsers and intenet security systems recognise a local site and skip the unecessary warnings but many dont. However on the white Sky Max there are very few settings you can change from the web interface mainly only the switch to enable uPnP all the others should be greyed out when the hub is onboarded to your account when the settings transfer to the My Sky app.

Re: Access Sky Max Hub admin page
Thanks yes I'm aware it's not sky directly, although have seen some posts where it says it gets referred to them.
I disagree an app is better, and an app should still be using SSL in the background, but I guess the end user is none the wiser if cert is expired in that scenario.
Mine has now grabbed the same newer SSL cert as @FLC posted, so needed some time clearly. I do still seem to get chucked out of the pages though and have to login again. But at least with a valid SSL cert the browser will actually use the saved credentials rather than having to type them back in!
