ADSL phonelines / broadband de-activation

Hi, I've heard that the copper ADSL phonelines are due to be de-activated by 31/01/2027. Does Sky know when this is due to happen in the Sheffield S3 area?

I'll need to arrange to upgrade my package to a fibre line and need to plan for when I'll need to do this.

Cheers.

That's incorrect (but a widespread misconception) : this is the date when analogue voice service (PSTN) is due to cease across the national network.

In the absence of FTTP, copper lines will continue to carry broadband (including a SoGEA version of ADSL) plus digital voice for years to come
