160Mbps constantly being reported to hub

Hi. On 29 July 2026 I got a new Sky Max Hub. Ever since it has consistently been reporting 160Mbps as the speed to my hub on the app.

The Wi-Fi will occasionally dip in and out - for example my phone just switched to mobile data while in the same room as the hub itself. Other times I will still get over 600Mbps to the bedroom above the router and readings of 909Mbps to the hub when I manually do it

but it goes back to 160Mbps whenever Sky do their spot checks on it.

I have had engineers out who said it was glitch on the app as it was not designed for full

fibre, despite me not having this issue with the old Sky Max Hub which consistently reported 909Mbps to my hub. He told me if I started connecting more devices the problem would rectify as the speed would settle.

I was told to replace the Ethernet to the ONT which I did and am still getting reports of 160Mbps.

I was told having the Wi-Fi on the hub was causing the issue as I used to use a Deco but have since switched the Wi-Fi back on and stopped using the Deco and still having the issue.

I've been told it's an issue with a line but have not had someone out to look at that.

I've been told so many things with no fix and seemingly no desire to fix it. To the point I am now considering leaving Sky altogether.

And now the app no longer shows me my readings as it normally would.

Is anyone else having this issue? Has anyone else managed to get Sky to actually fix it if they have had it?

I am at the end of my tether with this and need a fix and phoning Sky has not only not been fruitful, it's been severely stressful for me.

Any advice is appreciated.

@LittleMissMewtwo sounds like for some reason the app is not reportung the correct line. It is possible that the hub change has not been reported correctly. Therefore I am escalating your post to the Sky team who support the forum who should be in touch soon to offer you a private online chat session to get this sorted. Keep an eye on the forum as if you miss the message just click the brightly coloured chat icon which will be added to the forum pages for you to use.saving another long phone call.
