12:30 internet drop. Again.
Why does this keep happening? Is this something I can opt out of if they're running updates?
If not, what competitor can I switch to so that this doesnt happen?
Completely unacceptable to be without service in this modern day and age for extended periods with no warning or reason given

Re: 12:30 internet drop. Again.
When there are issues between midnight and 7am it's quite possibly going to be essential overnight maintenance taking place which is carried out then to minimise disruption as most customers are asleep. It has to be carried out at some stage so better at 0030 in the morning than 1230 in the afternoon.

Re: 12:30 internet drop. Again.
@xjamessii all network operators have to maintain and replace equipment and that work is usually done overnight to ccause tge minimum disruption. In most cases this isnt Sky doing the work but Openreach or City Fibre whose networks Sky and other isps use to connect to your home. Work at a local exchange will not typically be something Openreach will tell the isps about in advance.
Clearly it isnt something you can "opt out if" and once a job which takes a few nights to complete is finished it can be years before your line loses connection again.

See the two posts immediately above yours. If the broadband is okay by 7am that's the likely cause.
