the F1 sports pundits trying to make the investigation about the final race go away

FIA investigation getting kicked in the long grass hoping that giving the result and or consiquences. After hea6 the radio messages between red bull and race director Masi I believe that the actions taken by Masi should be passed on to the police for potential fraud on the betting industry and the betting public that had placed bets on the outcome of the race. The race was over according to Martin Brundle which was correct if the rules around safety car routine was followed but after the convsations between senior red bull racing principals race director Masi changed the rules per suggestions by red bull to favour their drivers chance to win the race. That basically was race fixing. And should be classed as criminal. People will have placed bets on the race winners and championship winners them bets shouldn't have been paid out untill a investigation by the police into race fixing.

@ron+Johnson If any 'investigation' other that the one by the FIA was going to take place it would have been announced and started months ago. This is old news now and we can look forward to the next season.

edit: according to a BBC article yesterday The FIA inquiry was set up to analyse how the mistakes at Abu Dhabi were made, and to put in place protocols to try to prevent them happening again.

Re: the F1 sports pundits trying to make the investigation about the final race go away

It was a sporting decision and i'm sure somewhere in the rules there will be a clause stating that the race directors decison is final.

Masi made some howler mistakes last season , but he was under so much pressure in that last race and was getting flooded with messages from both sides. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn;t. And lets face it descions also went Lewis way during the season. I still maintain he should have got a bigger penalty at Silverstone, i was there and Max was on it from the very first second a wheel turned, and i even said that the only way he was losing there was going out the race.

That isn't the issue it's purely as a result of the radio communications between red bull and Masi they changed the outcome of the result of the race it doesn't matter if he didn't want the race to end behind a safety car it was what it was following normal procedure the race was over and that result was changed by him at the request of red bull . Because of what happened they changed that result . How many people have lost money by betting on the result and have been cheated of their winnings I'm sorry if you don't like it the inquiry by the FIA must pass their findings and proof is radio communications to the police because of their actions fraud has been committed

@ron+Johnson  There really isn't much the forum can do about this, nor is it anything to do with Sky.

@ron+Johnson Legislation around 'fraud' as you insist on calling it will be different in every country. Goodness knows what the criteria is in Abu Dhabi. Good luck with getting the authorities over there to investigate.
ps: nothing to do with UK legislation.

@ron+Johnson Just because you don't like the outcome of the race doesn't mean anything illegal has taken place, or that betting companies and gamblers have been defrauded, if that where the case then every gambler and betting company could claim fraud when ever team orders are implimented as that also alters to outcome of the race(Mercedes being the main culprit of that for years).

I am only concerned with what happens in UK laws and and losses to the betting community in the UK who may have potentially lost thousands or perhaps millions on that race result it must be brought to the proper people to investigate what took place or placing wagers with betting companies can no longer be trusted.

@ron+Johnson I presume you lost a few quid, but I can't see that any UK fraud laws have been broken. As previously stated by @GD1 this has nothing whatsoever to do with Sky who were one of dozens of worldwide broadcasters of the event. If you feel that strongly contact Action Fraud and they can advise you.

Actually I don't gamble if the same thing happened in boxing horse racing it would come under fixing the result and is totally illegal any sporting event where gambling takes place on the results has to be seen to be honest.

@ron+Johnson  As advised it is nothing to do with Sky nor can the forum do anything about this.

Re: the F1 sports pundits trying to make the investigation about the final race go away

*if* i was going to level any complaints about Sky and its F1 coverage it would be how terribly partisan (and especially pro Lewis) the commenating and pundit team is, sure its a UK broadcast but our guys aren't faultless.

However a conversation for another day and in a different forum 🙂

@ron+Johnson So your angry about something that doesn't effect you or your life in any way? Thats rather odd.

If any law had been broken then im sure the betting companies would have taken action, the fact they haven't shows they are not concerened by the outcome, which makes your stance very odd.

Can i ask why you haven't posted before with your outrage when team orders have be enacted? After all that alters the race outcome and has the same effect on gamblers and betting companies as the last race did.

@ron+Johnson where are you getting your information from on all these supposed vast losses for punters in the UK. I certainly have never seen anything reported in mainstream or indeed the betting press ? 🤔

As notoriously honest as FIFA / FIA / UCI / IOC etc?
