Re: itv hub on sky glass

Yes you are definitely not the only one to notice this! ITV seem to be the worst offender as apparently the quality on BBC and C4/5 is better. Hopefully if enough people complain about it Sky will do something to improve it if they can. This service is new, and will undoubtedly have some bugs and missing features, so we can expect a lot of improvements from Sky...

Re: itv hub on sky glass

The picture quality on ITV Hub has always been bad I'm afraid.  You'd need to lobby ITV to improve the picture quality.

I don't watch ITV so doesn't affect me.

Though my mum does and it drives her mad already.

Re: itv hub on sky glass

Today is prime example of ITV hub problem.

Click to continue to watch a program from our Playlist, have to scroll to the episode we were watching fast forward,  fast forward the ads and wait for the programme to resume then have to press left then OK to play, so miss some, and then we get a black screen and nothing happens.

Re: itv hub on sky glass

Tried again after testing 4 and 5 playback.

Found the programme we were in the middle of.... Skipped the launch adverts...... Played back and thought i found  the reason for screen going black.... The adverts were scheduled to play again but it failed to load.   So pressed fast forward twice and sat for 2 minutes whilst it cycled through all their adverts.

Played for 5 mins before the screen went black again.   Volume control works. Play/pause does nothing, neither does left or right.

Re: itv hub on sky glass

The Playlist FAQ that Sky has published today says that playlisted shows on ITV hub are all in HD, but many  people on here say that is not the case.

So someone is lying.  Who?

I suspect it's not the customers .

Re: itv hub on sky glass

I can't see sky has any say in playback quality of video in 3rd party services like ITV hub.

@Aaln @From the FAQ:

"Whenever we do play back from ITV, STV C4 or BBC apps, it is in HD as default and in UHD where this is available"

Sounds like they are saying it's HD to me.

Re: itv hub on sky glass

ITV Hub on GLASS is definitely not HD. I'm subscribed to ITV Hub+ on Amazon Prime and that is 100% HD and so much better than the app.

Sky need to go back and view this for themselves or have a conversation with ITV.

@Agp66 apparantly the ITV player is in HD but only 720p combined with any compression ITV may use which could affect the quality Sky are stuck really with what ITV provide

Technically, 720P is HD. Sadly with significant compression, but still HD.
