@douglas+scott Do you have an exisitng Sky email account? If not you cannot create a new one.

What part are you struggling with, if you have an Sky email account are you using an app on your device to set it ?

yes i do have an existing sky email account

its the server, i know rthe password is correct, not letting me download emails, had the app on my phone before and got loads of junk emails so dont want to do that again

Are you using the correct settings:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes

Its the pop server it is gmail that is saying could not identify pop server have used imap.tools.sky.com with port 993

Is the pop username my email address

The pop one should be:

Server - pop.tools.sky.com
Port - 995
Requires SSL - Yes

did not recognise the pop server name

The only other thing I can think off is to start again and see if it asks you to select a email provider and if so select Yahoo.

If you are using a Chromebook the easiest way to get your emails would be in the browser. Chromebooks are designed to work that way. https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email

If you do want to use the Gmail app, all you should need is your email address and password, there should be no need for any configuration.
