This is a shambles. Sky and Apple are 2 of of the globes biggest communications giants and they launch something that doesn't work. Been trying to login to the Apple App every day from day one, tried all suggestions on here and still stuck on the Apple logo screen on my Q main box but works on my mini box. I won't be extending my Apple trial - not worth the hassle

I loged into the Apple app, sucesfully at first and it worked fine on both my main Sky Q box and the mini box. Then I started getting only the apple logo and the apple app stalling on the main Sky Q box but it was still working on the mini box. I restarted the main box, updated the software and then refreshed the apps. After that neither box would log in or go past the apple logo screen.

i called sky support, but no joy. They said try Apple, all my apple log ins work on my other devices. I then went to my apple tv settings and deleted the two sky boxes which were shown as devices within my Apple tv subscription, hoping it would reset the Sky Apple App within the sky box and take me to the log in page again so that I could log in afresh.

its still stuck on the apple logo when I try to log in with my sky boxes app.

its a total shambles, but who is responsible to sort this out? Sky or Apple? Until then dont waste your time trying to use it.

Yep - exactly the same issue here - very annoying!!

So I had this issue too and managed to resolve it.  I first did the software update on my sky q box, this didn't fix it.  Then from reading several forums followed the app refresh by going into the engineer settings.  (Go to settings then press 001 on remote sand then press enter.) this should bring up the menu.  The app refresh didn't work either, however, i noticed an option not under app but under reset to reset settings.  Not the hard drive or factory reset.  I did this and at first was worried as all my apps had gone.  However, i then did a software update again and when it had finished (takes at least 10 mins) hey presto all the apps were back and the Apple TV+ app launched and took me to the sign in option so it worked all fine after that!  Hope that helps some people on here!

The previous post of resetting the system settings and updating the software again has worked for me and corrected the issue.

@Paulbods thank you - sorted right out! Had to reinstall the apps (001 menu) but Apple TV is back in business. Thanks again

- Hit home
- scroll down to settings but don’t press ok
- press 0 and wait a second
- press 0 and wait a second
- press 1 and wait a second
- press select
- it should show an admin message at the top of the screen
- scroll to Reset
- select reset settings

after it’s reset you shouldn’t have any apps
- Hit home
- scroll down to settings but don’t press ok
- press 0 and wait a second
- press 0 and wait a second
- press 1 and wait a second
- press select
- scroll to apps
- select Refresh Apps

Still unable to login to the app. When I try to sign in I just end up in a loop see sequence below.

Hi @Paul964 

If you have an iphone  mobile and a QR code scanner app on it , scan the code on the TV with scanner and it logs you straight in through your phone.

 

Hopefully that saves you all the hassle

Just checking on this fix. Does this in effect mean having to sign in to ask your apps again, including Netflix, Amazon,I player et'all. And does this impact any other custom settings, such as screen resolution, or sound output.

It has no effect on other apps as it is just registering your AppleTV + app on the Sky Q box
