@RoaminNL

Sounds fantastically legal and legitimate.

Try downloading instead of recording said program, this gets rid of most (if not all) of the adverts 😊

It's the live broadcast that is where most ad revenue is made.

Can anyone tell me why Sky tv seems to be the only pay to view service which interrupts programs constantly with advertisements? Which they also get paid for.

Just greed is it.?

If no channel had adverts, we'd be paying TV licenses for ALL cannels and not just BBC. Do you want that?

@Anonymousnetflix making a loss! Where did you get that rubbish from? The last annual figures show a net profit of 1.9billin dollars in year 2019 /20.

ps and they don't show advertisements and have better subtitles. 😂

Netflix has many many more peopke subscribing. Plus Netflix is global and Sky is not. Also, Sky cannot disctate ads on channels other then their own. So still most channels would have ads even if Sky was able to do away with them on their channels.

Other channels with adverts you DON'T pay for ... but SKY charges customers rip-off prices AND stuffs you with adverts they also get payed for.

With SKY it's all $$$$$$$$$ and sod the customer.

@RoaminNL Sorry but you loose any credibility you have in your argument when you admit to paying for illegal access to services, your funding crime and that is abhorrent.

@daveNOS I have no qualms whatsoever in avoiding paying rip-off companies and at the same time, as any normal person, try to get what they want. If SKY weren't such a money grabbing company, they'd have happier customers willing to pay for services.

Gone are the days of paying for just BBC channels, a license is required for any broadcast TV (computer or TV) and/or BBC online services such as iPlayer (live, catch-up or on-demand).

If Sky had any problems with customer retention and signing up new customers they would doubtless do something about it.

I don't believe it's 'normal' to obtain access to content fraudulently. Well, not to the vast majority, anyway.

@RoaminNL  They do have happy customers willing to pay for their services. Just that you're not one of them. Don't worry, we'll all carry on paying so you don't have to.

@Mark39 .. of the SKY customers I know in UK .. none are happy with SKY.. there's just no alternative if you want to watch sport.. unless you do as I do .. IPTV..

Avoiding paying a rip-off company such as SKY is on a par with trying to pay as little tax as possible.. the target of anyone unless they're brain-dead.

  • @Chodley .. even if I WANTED to.. I couldn't pay to SKY.. they don't take overseas customers.. they don't need or want our money 😁
  • ... and I'm happy with that 😂

@RoaminNL Sorry but i have real issues with a thief who funds criminal activity trying to take some sort of moral high ground.

Im sure the Dutch authorities would take a very dim view of your behaviour as they take copyright theft quite seriously, i sincerely hope you get held accountable for your actions.

btw if SKY aren't interested (refuse) in selling services outside the UK, then no-one should be moaning if those outside UK pick it up in alternative ways .. SKY hasn't lost a single cent that they could have made. They obviously don't want that money. Anyone that has a problem is just purely jealous 😉
