I keep getting download failed, item unavailable. I've been trying for a week. Please help. I've tried deleting the failed attempt. Still can't download.

@carol140, @CAS392A I had the same message trying to download episode 1 , I did a software update and it worked for me .
go to settings, system info, software version, scroll right to set up and perform a software update. Once that has been done, go to your planner and delete any copy of season 1 episode 1 from there or whatever episode you are having trouble with.copy of season 1 episode 1 from there. After that, go into your deleted section and make sure season 1 episode is also removed from there. And then try downloading again.

I had the same problem with ep 1 but instead of typing the programme in I went to catch up and found ep1 and downloaded fine. Ep2 was fine both ways. Hope this helps.

Having the same problem can download episodes 2 and 3 fine just not 1. Have deleted and attempted 6 times. Reset my Internet and Sky box still no joy. Not very good as pay good money to have Sky box sets etc.
Open to any other ideas.

Thank you, this worked for me!

Thank you, the software took about 20 mins and then I had to return to the same menu to realise it needed a bit more time. After update and switching it off I managed to download the first episode - woooooooo

I was having the same issue, ep 1 failing to DL through catch up. I ended up switching off at the mains and rebooting and all started downloading fine and watching it right now

I was having the same issue with repeated failed downloads of episode 1 of The Undoing. Followed the advice from @carol140, @CAS392A and performed a software update (go to settings, system info, software version, scroll right to set up and perform - the update can take 15 - 20 minutes and although the screen stating that the update is in progress may disappear, the update may still be going on in the background. Return to the same screen in the settings menu to check. It will state when the update is complete and tell you that it will finish installing when the box next goes into standby) This worked first time for me and episode 1 downloaded successfully. Very frustrating but glad it's working now.
Tip: I had already deleted the failed downloads and then deleted them from my deleted items, so make sure to do this first before attempting to download it again following the software update 👍🏽

I watched episodes 1-4 recently but the download for episode 5 said "failed". No amount of pressing R or Select worked, so I deleted it and searched to download it again. But there is nothing available! Only a "Making Of", "Q&A" type programs showing.
I will be really disappointed if it has been removed after such a short time, I really don't want to pay to watch it on Amazon when it should already be part of the sky package I pay for.
Can anybody help? Sky+HD with no other issues.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Occams-Razor As stated above, it's reached its advertised expiry date, so it's gone. Nothing you can do other than to wait and see if Sky gets the rights to it again (or pay Amazon)

Thanks @oj01 after reading about issues other folks have had with failed downloads I was hopeful it could be resolved. Guess Amazon will be getting a few more pounds they won't pay VAT on.
