Ultra HD Box freeze

Hiya guys, I keep having trouble with my Q Ultra HD box the fan starts to run at full speed loudly and eventually it freezes the whole box, this happens at least twice a week. any ideas or would it be best to call sky for engineer ?

Go down to Settings but don't press Select. Instead type 0 0 1 Select to open the hidden menu. From there you can Reset Settings (you won't lose any recordings or preferences) which takes about 20 minutes. See if that helps sort things out.

@Skccje @As the other person said, try a restart, but it sounds like a failulty fan making the box freeze due to heat.

A replacement box may be required.

Hi @Skccje 

Assume your Q box is well ventilated and not stacked with other equipment.

It does look like it is overheating and maybe best if you contact Sky for an Engineer.

No @Skccje 

All Q equipment is rented and replacements are down to Sky

@oldfellaare you sure about that coz when i try to book engineer it says about a monthly fee to get it insured ??

100% @Skccje 

Sky are responsible for the repair or replacement of all faulty Q equipment (mechanical damage caused by the user excluded)
