Two problems with Sky Go for Mac

I have been using Sky Go for Mac for many years and, on the whole, it has been pretty good.

 

I recently purchased an M1 2020 Macbook Air, which is super fast and responsive. However, since getting it, Sky Go Desktop takes forever to launch: usually well over a minute. However, it then appears to work OK. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it and it is now at version: 21.7.3. I am running OS Big Sur 11.6, which is up to date.

 

I could live with the above by leaving the app open but, more often than not, it hangs when trying to reaccess it after sleep, forcing a restart of the app, with the same long delay.

 

More seriously, when I try to remote record many BBC programmes, only one option is offered: the SD version. (see photo 1):

If I access the same programme using my iPhone App, there will often be various versions available; different times or HD/SD etc. (see photo 2):

Has anybody else found this and can anybody offer a fix?

I think the recording issue has come up before as the HD channel via the TV Guide on the Sky Go app is down on 815 so the search is finding the SD channel with the results which is on 116.

Thanks but why is it OK on the iPhone app, in that case? And is it possible to fix?
