This was shown on HBO Max last night but why isn't it being shown on Sky Atlantic or at least make it available on demand?

It really wouldn't be a sky atlantic programme. If if was to be shown on any sky channel, it be sky arts but such a thing would not be covered by the sky / hbo agreement.

Hbo probably had to buy rights from rock n roll hall of fame so it would probably be through rock n roll hall of hame sky would have to buy the rights, not the broadcaster

As @nolte indicated, this wouldn't automatically fall under Sky's agreement with HBO, they only have access to content created for the main HBO channel in America, HBO Max is a seperate service, so content is up for grabs to whoever wants it.

It's annoying then that the Sky agreement blocks HBO Max from launching in the UK. Hopefully HBO won't renew and can finally get the full HBO

I think it's highly unlikely that HBO would renew any such arrangement: they are already reported as regretting it.

Good news in that you would get the full array of stuff on HBO Max (minus some movies most likely due to a web of licensing) but downside is yet another SVOD provider when I already have 2 others not included with Sky
