Re: Text messages

Hi, I've also been having problems sending/receiving texts. Spent ages searching the Internet for an answer... I didn't find a solution! However, through trial and error, if I turn off 4g I can send and receive text messages.

Re: Text messages

Exactly the same issue for me since the day I switched to sky. I have today ordered a new sim as that's all the help section recommended but I can't see it working as it's been like this since day 1.

Re: Text messages

This is just what I did, not saying it will work for everyone but I have an iPhone 7 I think (don't judge)

I went to settings and messages. There are a few toggle on/off buttons for (send sms when iMessage unavailable) toggle off then on

above there is a toggle for accounts linked to send iMessages, probably has your iTunes email and phone no etc. toggle off then back on.

Come out altogether. Toggle airplane mode on then off.

Delete a bunch of old texts, I had hundreds!!!

And a final refresher by switching off then on (good old sky hack there)

restart and go back to your txts and see if they send. Hope that works for anyone having issues, if it doesn't... throw it in the bin.

Re: Text messages

Hi @ZK2connects I had the same problem and saw your post while trying to figure this out: I initialised my phone before porting the number from my old network over to Sky. If you have done the same do the following - Settings/Messages/iMessage/xAddressess

you will see the original number that came with the SIM card change to the ported number - For me this solved the problem.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Hi @Jojo240712  if you read up a few posts there are two solutions described.

One other thing to check is go to settings, phone, my number and check the correct number is stored there, if not then update it then exit and reboot your phone.

Re: Text messages

Many thanks foe this recommendation! @Manolo62

I just switched from Three to Sky 2 days ago and haven't been able to send text messages since - I had a Sky number first which was then changed to my existing number. However, in settings both numbers showed and were activated. When trying to send failed message again it gave me the option to try again or try again with Primary. Anyone else having that issue: deactivate the old number and any email addresses you don't use and it will solve the issue!

Settings/Messages/iMessage -> deactivate what's not needed.

Re: text messages.

If you have transferred your old number to this new SIM. Go to settings and check that your telephone number is correct.
