TechAdvisor review

another generally positive one

interesting paragraph half way through....

This doesn’t tell the whole story though. During testing, Sky dropped an update which specifically lifts the set’s performance with HLG, to help make its Sky Sports coverage pop a little better.

Am looking forward to this update.  Good to see Sky being more agile aroung the Glass platform, whether by design or circumstance.  It is very good to see (just don't forget to squeeze a fix in for the All4 UVP deeplinks too, Sky devs 😉 )

@Joe-Bow the ability to roll out smaller more frequent updates was stressed as a key advantage in the information we were given.

@Chrisee I seem to remember one of the later Q firmwares laying foundations for this in Q.  Looks like those steps have also been taken forward and improved for Glass, and it's a very good, and welcome (IMHO), decision too.

@Joe-Bow Q is now running on a roughly monthly update cycle - Q18 landed this morning on my box. It used to be 4 updates a year.

Nobody can told us how many Glass updates there will be but the "agile development" was stressed as a major step, forward. Pre-release testing should be simpler on the TVs at least. Currently Sky have banks of Q boxes connected to every TV you can think of running pre-release candidates and still things get broken.

We got a tour of the testing facility at Osterley Park 4 years ago it was highly impressive and apparently it is only one of several.
