Summerhouse

I've built an office which is about 20 metres from my house where I will need to good Wi-Fi. Can I pay sky to put a second router in there or can I just get another broadband package on top of my existing one? I have no idea how these things work but I've got nowhere with boosters and mesh. Any advice greatfully received.

@Dave+Parkinson  Sky won't put another router in your office, so eirher you could run ethernet from the hosue to the office, or if on the same electrical circuit, powerline adapters will do.

If you do want a seperate broadband line then you would need to get a new line/service, preferably a Business line, however as you can only have one boradband service with Sky then you may need to approach another provider to acheive this.

Re: Summerhouse

Many thanks. So a cable from the router up to the office and then plug another router in to it up in the office? It is on the same power circuit are those power adapters quite good? Would I just plug my fire stick into one of the adapters? Sorry for the questions 50 year old plasterer with the IT gumption of a knat 🤣

@Dave+Parkinson  No, forget about a 2nd router, run a cable then add an ethernet switch or wifi access point.

You  can't plug firesticks into a powerline adapter, the firestick needs a TV to operate.
