Re: Software version update

Hoping  @Lisa-P1987 can help. Since update my freesat 4K DVR box (call it an insurance policy 😀) is no longer visible over HDMI. I did get sound and a green screen but now having rebooted the freesat box just getting a black screen and no sound. Have tried in HDMI 1 and HDMI 3. Fire stick is ok on HDMI 2

Re: Software version update

If anyone else has this issue with freesat, turn power off on the freesat box entirely (pull out plug) then reconnect. Should reboot ok and you'll see the picture again

Re: Software version update

Since update enhanced experience no longer works. It worked fine before. On occasions we get a blank screen and other times it stays in standby. Auto dimming is on etc.  any suggestions as to how to reactivate would be appreciated. Yes it is turned on in the settings

Re: Software version update

@Anonymous @Sadly I think there are so many issues, that are probably connected, that as soon as they repair one issue it is causing another. My enhanced experience has never worked, and I have always had the HDMI issue, plus I have noticeable banding when watching UHD HDR. It will be several months before sky sort all the issues out. Could well delay their roadmap of introducing new features. I have a replacement tv coming tomorrow, will see how that goes. Last chance saloon for me

Re: Software version update

@Lisa-P1987 @Anonymous I can also confirm that the latest update DID break the Enhanced experience - it was working fine beforehand. It looks like the update forces the switch to stay on but then does not trigger the motion sensor.

Also, the Bass Boost option revert igself back to "off" after some hours the tv was put onto standby.

The Virtual surround is non existent when watching non-Atmos feeds like Sky Cunema movies...

Re: Software version update

After being told that this update included a fix for motion sensing capabilities it in fact has completely BROKEN the feature!

So frustrating that they rushed out this update seemingly and have created another major issue.

iv been woken very early by dad saying why has his glass started saying no internet connection despite it being Ethernet connected, the tv just isn't recognising the connection.

this is going to be a long week or so waiting for another fix to come

Re: Software version update

Didn't want to start ...another thread... when a perfectly good one is already here!!

So since the update my TV like others is now slightly unstable, things toggling off or on without my input, have to have local dim on or It won't switch back on properly, and now this morning it won't switch to the Xbox.

to me it seems it just needs a good old reset!!

could people just confirm, by doing so is it only apps that need logging back into ? As that only takes a second?

@Miklos @Lisa-P1987

its a real shame as we had a stable TV before this update.  Perhaps Sky thought it was more important to get the flickering issue resolved than any other features.  Sky should at least acknowledge that these issues exist as I like others wonder if we have broken TVs

Re: Software version update

They are definitely aware but I think they thought it only affected Xbox consoles. The flickering was probably prioritised as the lesser of two evils because that would be the first thing that's noticeable on the display models. However, device synchronicity and functioning HDMI slots are every bit as important (if not more so) to a TV owner as having the Sky apps function correctly.

It's great they fixed the flickering but now there are HDMI, black screen, and seemingly more enhanced viewing problems than before. I'm genuinely considering cancelling my replacement TV before it arrives on Tuesday if they don't communicate with us when the next update is expected.

 Hopefully, @Lisa-P1987  @Mark-Br   will be able to update us soon or anyone from Sky before the complaints keep mounting up.

Re: Software version update

Despite setting 'local dimming' to ON yesterday, and all appeared reasonably well after, I get a shout this morning that "the TV won't power on again" ... sure enough it is just the screen that's black as if you say "Hello Sky 101' then the TV will actually change to 101 and you get programme audio! So it needs another reboot again ... but hang on, I had switched Local Dimming on yesterday which appeared to resolve the problem.

Rebooted TV, go to settings and local dimming has overnight toggled to OFF! I mean, **bleep** is actually going on here and why is the TV changing settings when in standby?

Also, does anyone know what the led is indicating when it is pulsing on and off?  It did this for a few minutes after a reboot this morning before going solid red and the TV then responding to the remote. Is it indicating it's reloading its firmware (again 🙄).

Maybe Sky's very quick fix for the flickering FALD fault was to force all Glass TVs to turn off local dimming by default, on every power-up.  Has anyone verified that local dimming is actually working?  There are various test videos available such as https://youtu.be/AYtvehF9-Z8

A FALD TV is pointless if local dimming is always forced off.

I would like Sky to publish just what the LED states mean;

My guesses -

Solid = Standby

OFF = TV on

Flashing slowly = Rebooting

Flashing Quickly = Software updating

These are the different ones i have seen it do. But would be useful SKY to post more technicals.

But this didnt happen for me overnight, so its an odd behaviour that doesnt happen to everyone.
