Re: Software version update
@tarbat Seems to me that it's a hangover from having to provide UHD HDR via satellite, and not been re-worked for broadband broadcast. Maybe that'll change in time though.

@tarbat I was misinformed and stand corrected. Apologies, beggars the question why sky didn't use HDR10?

Re: Software version update
Just to add my 2 pence: following today's software update my flickering issue appears to have been resolved. I have had 2 other minor issues today:
The UI locked up for about 15 seconds before resuming.
While watching Sky History HD the picture froze and I had to change channels and then go back again, after which it worked fine. I have had the picture freeze a few times since I first took delivery but it normally starts up again after a second or two, which I think is just the nature of streaming TV.

Re: Software version update
My fairly stable TV (although the odd issue with losing its internet connection) has been a complete nightmare this morning.
TV wouldn't turn on ... black screen. Resolved after a couple of power-off reboots.
Now my HDMI inputs are screwed. I can no longer watch the input from my BT Youview box ... get audio but a black screen. And then I couldn't find any way to get out of that black screen ... home button did nothing so again had to power off reboot. When the TV came back up, no internet connection. As an experiment I tried unplugging and replugging the network cable ... TV shows it reconnecting to the router and gives a ✔️ but fails to connect to the internet. 😡
So another power down reboot needed and TV appears to come up OK but HDMI not working properly for me. No idea about the screen blinking issue as my TV didn't really appear to noticeably suffer, or it didn't actually bother me 🤷🏼♂️
I haven't even checked the two Pucks yet.
Didn't the beta testers for this version flag up any HDMI issues back to Sky?

Re: Software version update
I have had a similar morning to get the TV to come on. Took about 20 minutes of continual unplugging at mains and trying again. I just hope this nonsense comes to an end soon.

Re: Software version update
@Trapdoor If you're ethernet connected, I found pulling the cable from the Glass TV to the mesh point caused mine to start working again, without the need to switch on or off. Gives the network stack on Glass a bit of a kick.

I think at least one of them did.

Re: Software version update
@Trapdoor there were reports of the Xbox having the same issue as your YouView box it seems a new bug was created when trying to fix the flickering they are definitely aware of that. It's obviously affecting more than just Xbox but or other HDMI connections too. Sky Employee @Lisa-P1987 said they are working on a fix. Hopefully, that's not another two-week wait for an update.
I know the flickering was a priority but it's a shame that the patch was released knowing that it would break something else in the process. One of their biggest selling points at the reveal demonstration was showing off its HDMI synchronicity with other devices like consoles etc so hopefully they'll fix this soon.

Re: Software version update
This is dreadful really. I fully expected some minor bugs, but I am starting to think that sky glass wasn't beta tested at all ( I know it was by staff). Why the hell didn't sky do a public beta test??

Re: Software version update
@Joe-Bow ... I tried that as the first option ... watched it whilst on the Network Setting page and you could see it disconnect from the router. Plugging in it then reconnected to the router but still failed to connect to the internet ... no reason as the TV is connected directly into my TP-Link router, other than the stack in the TV is broken and don't see the physical layer is connected even though it's reported as such.
Sky need to quickly get their act together to get this, and the other major issues resolved.

Re: Software version update
I was updated a week or so ago to the new software. I mentioned in the forums that the flicker had gone but I had other issues including the TV not turning on from standby (Intermittently would just go to a black screen and need to be rebooted via a mains power switch off). I also had issues with hdmi sources including Xbox and BTTV box.
I ended up doing a factory reset via the menu options which does wipe all your settings as well as logins to apps as well as taking a while to activate from Sky.
Since the factory reset mine has been a lot more stable (only crashed once and always turns on as meant to), hdmi switching all good as well, but my motion sensing still isn't working.
You could try doing a factory reset but please do so at your own risk.
Anyway hope it helps someone.

I agree. If BT can do live sport in HDR10(PQ), why can't Sky. Although I have to say I found BTs coverage too bright for my tired old eyes, and had to reduce OLED luminance to 80% when watching it this evening,
The problem with all HDR formats is that there's no way of adjusting the TV settings so that reference white is set to the viewers preferred level, whilst still using the maximum luminance of the TV for the specular highlights.

Re: Software version update
@Trapdoor well that network stack certainly looks a bit bonkers according to the issues I had tonight.
I had the misfortune of having to set a puck up using Wi-Fi on my Asus XT8 wifi6 mesh. Being Wi-Fi 6 compatible I have very high hopes for the puck, but nope, loads of drop outs despite having line of site to a very close by mesh point and binding the puck to that mesh point rather than roaming. For reference, this mesh point is connecting at very high speed to its partner mesh point, and is only really used by my sone when he's gaming, which he wasn't at the time of the drop outs.
Had to scratch my head wondering how I could be disconnected from Wi-Fi despite being connected to both a router and the internet.
