Evening, I've had the same issue for a few weeks now, tried the DNS changes to no avail. I've had a reply from the Sky Help Team on Twitter and they are aware and trying to resolve it. I've managed to download Landscapers in UHD unfortunately I  can't watch it on the mini boxes though, also tried a couple of films in UHD and they also downloaded,  I can only assume it's because they didnt tie adverts to it.

Currently I've got Sky Q with 2 mini boxes running software version Q180.000.17.00L (5f5ez10) on BT full fibre.

It started almost two weeks ago when I couldn't download American Rust. Now I can't download anything at all. I have telephoned SKY and been told they will fix it when they can. They are aware of a lot of customers experiencing the same issues!  No time given when downloads will work again.  I have tried all the advice I have read about on here and nothing has worked.

This is getting very silly.  When are they going to fix this?

On demand and catchup are the features I mainly use when I use Sky tv.

This is amazingly poor customer service.

I too have this problem. I have tried all the recommendations to no avail.

I first experienced it with Landsapers. "Download failed" on episodes 1 and 4, successful on 2 and 3. But the download failures are much more frequent now

@Robinesque @KeithTC  Have you followed the instructions in post 964, and used a DNS address appropriate for your broadband supplier, as this has worked for everybody so far from what I can see?

This is unbelievable, we are paying for a service we are not receiving. I had an engineer come out who said I don't know why they have sent me there is nothing I can do, it is a known issue but they keep sending me out to people. He credited the visit and left. Absolutely ridiculous..

BBC programmes seem to work occasionally, but nothing from the Sky channels..

For those that are new to this discussion thread, and the Sky community in general, there are clearly mediators of the community, but that's all they are, very rarely if ever will anybody with technical expertise from Sky contribute, the community mainly just allows us the customers to lend our expertise to help each other.

In this particular case, after some trial and error, post 964 seems to highlight quite nicely the temporary fix that we have discovered, and it seems to be working.

In my experience, the first we will know that a fix has been developed is when the software on the Sky box changes, in this case the current version is Q180. When Q190 appears, this issue will probably be resolved, but tread carefully as it may uncover something else as happened with Q160 to Q170.

I don't want to burst anybodys bubble, but this issue may take months to resolve, especially if they need to coordinate with other broadband providers. ☹️

We have had this problem for a couple of weeks now. I wasn't really comfortable about messing with the DNS settings but I was so fed up with it, I decided to give it a go. We are with BT so I used one of those listed on post 964. It's been working for the last couple of days. If it was not for you guys with a bit more technical know how than most of us, we would all be tearing our hair out. I am disgusted that Sky who should be the experts, don't seem to be able to provide a fix , however temporary but their customers can!

Same problem. Done all the workarounds but can't download anything. Actually managed to download the final of Bake Off 2 days ago, after many attempts, and the whole show glitches almost every minute for the last half hour. 

We have BT Broadband but sky have fitted a 2nd router to our network as Sky Q lost network connection on a daily basis.

I can download anything onto my phone via Sky Go fine on the house network.

Just tweeted sky again asking how much longer and are we still being charged for a service that doesn't work.

@jesus+joseph81 I assume the 'second router' is a Wi-Fi extender?

I had similar issues with the Sky mesh network, and they wanted to run cables around my house to install the second router to allow the mini box to work, i refused.

The only way to fix this is to install Powerline plugs to effectively directly connect the Sky boxes to the broadband router (remembering to switch off the sky mesh network), unfortunately there is a cost involved in this, but it works. 😊 👍
