Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Managed to load down first episode of Landscapers only to find that it is corrupted! What's going on Sky?

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@IHSIAN Fully delete it from your planner and try again, I'm getting similar issues, but if you persever it works eventually (try downloading at a quite time), not ideal I know, but better than nothing.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@philroe I'm with BT for my broadband, I've not bother to mess about with any of the dubious Sky workarounds and have managed to get downloads through, but it sometimes takes a little effort and time.

This is the Sky Q forum. Sky Q does not have a planner.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I would suggest that's a little pedantic, I have a screen with all of my recordings and another with what's scheduled to record (a planner by any other name) 😉

The thing is, someone who has recently moved from Sky+/Sky+HD probably doesn't know all the ins/outs of Sky Q just yet and if you mention a planner, then you could cuase confusion as the person could be looking for the planner that they were used to used and not finding it. It's best to use the correct termonoligy as to not cause any confusion.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I've had this problem for a while, but just ran the latest software update this evening (Sunday) and it's back to working properly for me now.

There was an update on Friday too which didn't fix it, but hopefully this is sorted now.

menu>>settings>>system info >>software version>>setup>>software download

Let's  see if it still works tomorrow.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I have a similar experience of being able to download at say 3am but not any other time. I've however just discovered that the downloads I have successfully achieved are corrupted, the sound plays but the video is just a grey screen with the odd flash of pixelation.

A total failure of leadership by sky to acknowledge and communicate the problem to subscribers.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I'm not worried about this thread hitting 100 pages ...

... I am worried that Sky won't have this fixed before Xmas.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I am also having the same problem, 15 minutes to get through to Sky and then told to run an update. While on hold got cut off, let up date go through (another 15 minutes), reset box and same problem. Another 20 minutes waiting to get through to sky only to be told it was my broadband speed. Explained other channels download OK, it only seems to be sky channels such as sky atlantic. He then told me to update software again as it may not have installed properly, I started this and then I got cut off again. This was lat week and I am still having the same problem. This is really frustrating. After working 14 to 18hr shifts in a busy hospital I just want to sometimes come home and binge on catch ups.... very very frustrating!

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I just tried th3 below which (for the moment) has allowed me to download content again....

Q > home > settings > setup > network >  advanced settings > set manually (ip settings)

ip address - should already be set to a unique IP on your home network

Subnet mask - should already be set

Router - should be set  (My BT smart hub2 default is 192.168.1.254)

DNS server - change this to 8.8.8.8

"Confirm"

try and download something

good luck.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Just successfully downloaded first instalment of Landscapers after several tries - no settings changed so definitely a Sky server problem

We don't know where the problem is. Some say it's BT. Some say it's Sky servers. Some say it's Sky firmware. Do you really know who's fault the problem is? Maybe it's both Sky & BT. I have no idea who's  fault the problem is.

One thing I do know for sure, it's not all third party Internet services thathave a problem downloading. I just know that BT/EE, Vodaphone, and TalkTalk have problems.
